Dr. Suthiphon Thaweechaikarn, General Secretary of the Regulatory and Promotion Commission for Insurance Companies (General Secretary of the OIC) announced that the OIC had consulted the relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Public Health.

According to the information from the Center for the Administration of the Covid-19 Situation (CSSA), the required insurance cover must be valid for the entire stay in Thailand.
The insurance cover is divided into two sections: death costs due to Covid-19 and treatment in hospitals and clinics.
Death coverage for necessary matters such as funeral expenses and repatriation of corpses is 3.2 million baht.
The same level of coverage is available for medical expenses. This includes medical control, continued medical treatment as well as continued medical treatment in hospitals, nursing homes or clinics, either inpatient or outpatient.
The premiums depend on where the traveler comes from and how long the cover lasts – a minimum of a month and a maximum of a year. The insurance company pays benefits or compensation for all necessary and reasonable expenses that meet medical standards.
People from low-risk countries have to pay between 1,600 and 14,400 baht.
The country coverage with medium risk is between 2,560 and 23,040 baht.
Visitors from the so-called high-risk countries, on the other hand, have to calculate an amount between 4,800 baht to 43,200 baht for their insurance cover.
The coverage meets all government regulations, but no more than the pledged amount of 3,200,000 baht, reports The Bangkok Insight.
